At Immersium Studio we have been doing meetings in the metaverse for a long time. Today we share with you what we did on February 7, 2022. We met on behalf of Immersium Studio, Iván Martí (CTO), Luis Villarejo (CEO) and Marta Alier (Community & Project Manager) with Bea (Zigiella) Martín Valcárcel, Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of BBDO- Spain.
This meeting in the metaverse was done with the Horizon Workrooms platform, with an Oculus Quest2. We were meeting for more than an hour, and in it we explored the different options that Workrooms offers, such as different office scenarios, different views, and the possibility of using an interactive whiteboard and drawing on it thanks to the different options offered by the control knobs of the Oculus Quest2, or project a presentation on a screen.
To have access to these meetings it is not essential to have Virtual Reality glasses, you can also connect through a computer, mobile phone or tablet. So the users who are in the metaverse, who interact through their bodies and movements, see a screen where the person who does not have glasses appears, connected as in the remote meetings to which we are accustomed.

“I am exploring immersive work environments. The other day I was in a meeting with Immersium Studio for more than an hour and it was a very good experience. The feeling of being in person while everyone is remotely connected is impressive, very different from a meeting with screens. Technology is advancing at a hectic pace in a short time. You have to be there.”
Holding meetings in the metaverse will be more and more common because as Bea explained, the feeling of being in person is very realistic, and it really allows different ways of interaction that make them very interesting. Holding meetings of this type will bring us closer to many people, even if they are many kilometers away.
