On June 15, 2026, the first General Assembly of the CLARIAH-CAT project—of which we are a part—took place. Held at the Barcelona Computing Center in a hybrid format (both online and in-person), the event brought together representatives from the institutions comprising this consortium, which includes various universities, cultural institutions, and research organizations.
The objective of the General Assembly was to introduce the full management team to the attendees, provide updates on the network’s activities and progress—as outlined during the kick-off meeting last March—and present a proposal to establish working groups structured around the network’s four pillars: Platform and Infrastructure; Co-creation; Valorization and Transfer; and Training.

The session concluded with a segment for comments and questions, during which the network’s activities were discussed and all attendees contributed interesting viewpoints and proposals to further advance the project.
During a preliminary meeting held on June 4, we had the pleasure of visiting the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), Spain’s national supercomputing center. The BSC-CNS serves the international scientific community and industries requiring HPC services. Its multidisciplinary research team and computational facilities make the BSC an international center of excellence in e-Science.
