On Tuesday, June 25, 2024 (9:30 a.m.), the Closing Day of the project “Immersive Learning Situations: A Critical Look at the Environment” was held in the Auditorium of the Joan Miró Foundation.

The objective of this project has been to contribute to the digital transformation of educational centers through support in the design, development and evaluation of interdisciplinary immersive projects. Different entities have collaborated in this project, such as educational centers (IES Castellet, Escola Joan Miró, Instituto Escola Eixample, IES Lluís Vives, Escola Ginebron), relevant foundations in art field and culture (Fundación Joan Miró, Fundación Mies van der Rohe ), a cultural association promoted by architects (Globus Vermell), the UOC ICT Education Research Group, Edul@ab, and us, Immersium Studio, as a startup specialized in the application of Virtual Reality technologies. We have advised on the entire process of generating immersive experiences.
You can read more information about this project in this post.
During the day we discovered this digital transformation proposal thanks to the experience of centers participating in the project such as IE Eixample (Barcelona), Escuela Ginebro (Llinars del Vallès), IES Lluís Vives (Barcelona) and IES Castellet (Sant Vicenç de Castellet ). To develop the immersive projects, each school has received digital material, training for its use and support for the generation of 360 immersive tours that, ultimately, will be integrated into a digital repository shared with all centers.
Workday
This day began with an institutional welcome (Miró Foundation, Research and Digital Culture, Community and Culture of the UOC), followed by the project presentation (Edul@b Research Group). Afterwards, a round table was held, where our CEO Luis Villarejo participated, along with other project collaborators, such as Silvia Martínez from Globus Vermell, Anna Ramos from the Mies van der Rohe Foundation and Mercè Jarque from the Joan Miró Foundation.
Below the educational centers have presented their projects, giving a look at the 360 immersive tours. The projects they have presented are:
Immersive Creativity – We’ll pass! Way-stream bridge-passage
Immersive Creativity – B.O.M.B.O.L.L.A.
Immersive Creativity – Mondrian: Space transformation
Immersive Creativity – Vives is in fashion
Immersive Creativity – Discovering Castellet
Immersive Creativity – The way to go to school
Finally, there was a closing ceremony and a networking space in the courtyard of the Fundació Miró. From Immersium Studio we have made Virtual Reality glasses available to attendees to be able to enjoy in first person in an immersive way the projects that have been prepared in the different schools.

At Immersium Studio we are very happy with the results obtained in this project and the good reactions that attendees have had about the capabilities of applying these immersive technologies in the classrooms. Training students and teachers in the use of these technologies is very useful to encourage new generations in topics as diverse as art and creativity.
