Barcelona Deep Tech Summit is an epicenter of the Deep Tech entrepreneurial system focused on transfer and technology organized by Barcelona Activa. It was held on November 5, 6 and 7, 2024 at the Fira Gran Via in Barcelona. In this year’s edition, more than 70 speakers and 47 startups from the technology sector gathered. The emerging companies participating in the deep technology event are characterized by being capable of addressing complex problems and providing disruptive solutions to the main challenges of today’s society. They do it in different fields such as biomedicine, quantum, new materials, energy transition, sustainable construction, and robotics, among others.
The third edition of the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit (BDTS) was held for the first time within the framework of the Smart City Expo World Congress, where municipal projects that are part of the urban transformation of the city and focus on sustainability, decarbonization and the goal of zero emissions are presented. The BDTS is organized by Barcelona City Council through Barcelona Activa, together with five Catalan universities (UB, UAB, UPC, UPF and UOC) and with the institutional support of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
We want to thank the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya for the opportunity to have participated in this exhibition, as well as for giving us the opportunity to make a pitch in the Pitch Corner in front of potential clients and investors. We are very happy with the good reception our immersive experiences have had among those attending this exhibition. They were very surprised with the realism that our experiences show, as well as with the feeling of total immersion that is felt when using Virtual Reality glasses. This immersive environment with realistic situations where real and professional life situations appear, above all facilitate soft skills learning, since they provide an emotional component that facilitates content retention. The feeling of having experienced a situation allows you to face new problems in a different way and with more confidence.
