The Augmented Reality experience designed by Immersium Studio, which we can find in the Barcelona Science Museum, CosmoCaixa, has exceeded 50,000 visits in May 2023. This experience is part of the permanent exhibitions “The Strip of Life” which proposes a journey through our history through fossils. The centerpiece of this exhibit is the Triceratops skull, which is one of the largest and in best condition found in the world. The Triceratops is considered the largest-headed living being that has walked the earth. It was found in North Dakota at the end of the nineties and can currently be visited at the CosmoCaixa.
Through Augmented Reality we can see what it was like in its natural habitat, through a QR code that we can scan with our mobile phone or tablet.
The visits for this experience vary greatly if we compare weekdays, where they range between 40 and 80 visits per day, and weekends and holidays, which range between 150 and 250 visits per day, and can reach 300 visits on designated days. We are very happy that this experience has been so well received among CosmoCaixa users, since it is a very simple and effective way to observe what the triceratops was like in its natural habitat.
