This past November 2024, we had the pleasure of participating as strategic partners in the presentation of the “Transforming Emotions” project in Bogotá.
This project is a multidisciplinary effort aimed at providing solutions to the global issue of mental health among young people. If we take Colombia as an example, 75.4% of Colombian youth report having experienced mental health problems. These issues often lead to suicides. In the first quarter of 2024 alone, 712 suicide cases were recorded, 205 of which involved young people. These are alarming figures that we cannot ignore.
Various media outlets have shown interest in this project, which seeks to develop an intelligent program to transform education and mental health, as well as to prevent suicidal behavior and bullying in school environments.
We know that preventive education has a significant impact on people’s ability to manage and overcome adversity. We are convinced that equipping young people with the right tools for emotional management will have a positive impact on their lives.
At Immersium Studio, we are committed to strengthening resilience and emotional management among young people through immersive Virtual Reality training. We firmly believe that providing young people with a safe environment where they can be exposed to real-life situations will contribute to enhancing their resilience and emotional skills. Our immersive experiences are specifically designed from a psycho-pedagogical perspective, allowing users to make mistakes and learn from them without fear of real-life consequences.
During the “Transforming Emotions” event, we had the pleasure of meeting Charlie Álvarez, a technology influencer who has founded tech companies and startups in Colombia, was a TEDx Speaker in 2021, and currently presents the technology segment on national television (RCN). We introduced him to our immersive Virtual Reality experiences, and he was impressed by their realism and depth. He was convinced that new technologies like ours have a lot to offer in education and school environments.
