Our CEO, Luis Villarejo, will take part in the new edition of the “Technologies and Sustainable Tourism – From Smart Tourism to the Metaverse” conference series, organized by CaixaForum
Following the success of the first edition of the “Technologies and Sustainable Tourism” conferences organized by CaixaForum, the event organizers have decided to hold two new sessions in the cities of Girona and Seville. These sessions will take place on October 19 and October 24, 2023, respectively. At Immersium Studio, we will be participating in both editions as experts in the metaverse.
The CaixaForum centers are cultural centers of the “la Caixa” Foundation, created to bring culture closer to all audiences through a wide and varied program. The “la Caixa” Foundation has restored architecturally significant buildings in major cities across the country, transforming them into cultural dissemination centers. CaixaForum centers are located in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Zaragoza, Palma, Girona, Lleida, Tarragona, and Valencia.
Conferences and Debates: Technology and Sustainable Tourism – From Smart Tourism to the Metaverse
Technology is one of the key drivers that can support tourism sustainability. What contributions is technology currently making to sustainable tourism? What path has been taken from smart tourism to the Metaverse? How does technology impact tourism and the tourist experience, and what future perspectives does it offer? These are some of the questions that will be addressed.
CaixaForum Girona
The “Technologies and Sustainable Tourism” conferences and debates at CaixaForum Girona will take place on October 19, 2023. The session will be moderated by Soledad Morales, Director of the Master’s in Sustainable Tourism and ICT at UOC, and will feature the participation of:
- Carlos Romero Dexeus, Director of Tourism Research, Development, and Innovation, Segittur
- Lluís Villarejo Muñoz, CEO of Immersium Studio, a UOC spin-off company
- Jaume Mata, Head of the Sustainable Tourism Area at Visit Valencia
CaixaForum Sevilla
The “Technologies and Sustainable Tourism” conferences and debates at CaixaForum Seville will take place on October 24, 2023. The session will be moderated by Soledad Morales, Director of the Master’s in Sustainable Tourism and ICT at UOC, and will feature the participation of:
- Lluís Villarejo Muñoz, CEO of Immersium Studio, a UOC spin-off company
- María Velasco González, Advisor to the Office of the Secretary of State for Tourism, Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism
- Rafael Fuentes, Professor at the University of Málaga
