Digital Universities Europe is a forum organized by Times Higher Education (THE) which took place at the UOC’s Poblenou Campus from 23 to 25 October 2023. The event was attended by around 70 speakers and 250 specialists from all over Europe. The theme of the forum was The road to digital, equitable and green higher education. A wide range of aspects related to accelerating innovation in quality education in the digital age was covered by sharing success stories, case studies and practical solutions.
In Immersium Studio we have participated in the Fringe event: Virtual Reality and immersive experience showcase.
First part we have explained to the participants about immersive learning and Virtual Reality. The final part consisted of a hands-on session with VR glasses.
The participants were very surprised by how realistic the scenarios recorded with 360-degree cameras are. Real, and non-digital scenarios, are much more appropriate for the user to feel in a scenario relevant to their learning. Our scenarios allow recreating many scenes from the users’ professional lives, which will allow them to greatly improve their skills.
We are very happy to participate in events like this where immersive technology is brought closer to professionals from different sectors. Virtual Reality allows for very useful immersive learning in many sectors such as health, social, educational, and corporate environments, among others.
