Gategroup is an international company headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, dedicated to creating memorable culinary experiences, from the ground up to the sky. They are a global food company with a broad portfolio of brands offering culinary and hospitality services, and are committed to continuous product innovation and advanced technological solutions.
Among these brands is Gate Gourmet, a global provider of airline catering and provisioning services, combining innovative menus and delivering consistent, high-quality in-flight meals.
A few months ago, they launched Innovation Day, where they sought applications from startups with innovative ideas to revolutionize on-board gastronomy, in the following areas:
- Passenger Experience – revolutionizing in-flight dining with food technology, smart packaging, and data-driven solutions to personalize menus and elevate service.
- Operational Transformation – managing judgmental tasks, optimizing workflows, and improving communication through Generative and Agent AI.
- Staff Training and Empowerment – accelerating training and improving efficiency through AI, augmented reality, technology, and digital tools.
Of the 600 companies initially selected, 10 were selected to present their solutions at Innovation Day, and Immersium Studio was one of those chosen.
We had the pleasure of presenting our products together with other companies such as DevisionX, Food Vision, RoboK, Fruitful AI, Ramblr.ai, KITRO, Irida Labs, Swiss Engineering Partners AG and Innoarea Projects.
Our CEO, Luis Villarejo, demonstrated how our immersive virtual reality experiences can enhance the skills of staff responsible for various aspects of the processes involved in producing onboard food.
