In this post we want to explain the sportier face of our CEO, Luis Villarejo, who has been a veteran player of FC Sant Joan Despí – Sant Pancracio for more than 20 years. For this reason, Carlos Fité from the La Frontal program on TV3 of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF) interviewed him in March 2022.

FC Sant Joan Despí – San Pancracio is a family club that was founded in 1969 with a powerful motto, “Respect and Passion”. They currently have 18 teams and 314 licenses. Luis Villarejo started 20 years ago as an amateur player and is currently still with the veterans. “San Pancracio is a family club with good people whose values make you create a bond between all the members of the club. I started as a player and then you see that there are things to do and you are contributing your grain of sand… The oldest player is from 1969, you can spend half your life in this club, and that is something very nice“
Luis is currently on the directors board “There are many things to do, it is a non-professionalized structure, and we are taking steps. We need volunteer hours, amateur players, board members, veterans, everyone contributes.“
They have even created integrated software to professionalize their entire structure. “When the subject of the school came up, we saw that there would be a very large volume of people from the team, and we needed a solution. There are several computer engineers on the board and it comes to us by vocation. We did a bit of benchmarking to see what solution we could find, to make day-to-day management effective, registrations, cancellations, follow-up, injuries, etc… We opted for one of the solutions that have the longest history, and we are very happy. The monitors, trainers enter data, and we can control the entire route.”
San Pancracio is a club that has passed 50 years after overcoming many difficulties. This helps to assess the effort of all involved. “Part of veterans mission is to transmit these values to the younger generations, how lucky they are now to enjoy municipal facilities that were not available in the past, with good conditions and good professionals.“
