Trans* VR Project

The Trans* VR project is a project that we are developing for the University of Barcelona within the DIGAPREN Project, which we won in a public tender.
In the DIGAPREN project, Digitization of learning environments, we are developing several immersive learning experiences, including Clinical VR, Grief VR and Trans* VR. This last experience, developed by the pedagogical and social field, consists of bringing together the experiences lived by Trans* people in their daily and professional lives. This activity is aimed at students of Pedagogy, Teaching, Social Education, as well as health sciences degrees (nursing, medicine, dentistry and podiatry).
Immersive Experience
This immersive experience has been specifically developed to bring closer the experiences of Trans* people and raise awareness about their daily realities. This experience in Virtual Reality, in a 360º environment, will be used by students from the University of Barcelona.
The context of the experience is the first birthday party that our protagonist, Laura, celebrates since her transition. We explore important topics related to the violence that trans* people suffer in their daily lives, among which we find misgenderization, the use of deadname, stereotypes those they face, etc. We also explore other relevant issues such as trans* childhood and the essential role that associations play in supporting, accompanying and empowering trans* people and their environment.

We are very happy with the result obtained in this experience, which was filmed with trans* actors to give it the greatest possible reality. The story of each one of them is very diverse, but all of them have faced difficult situations, and only people who have suffered them know how they feel in such painful and complicated moments. This experience will surely help many students to have a better vision of the realities of trans* people, fleeing from the stereotypes that exist in our society.
