Soft Skills Project to Improve Employability in VR

In this project, we are developing an immersive experience for the Castellar del Vallès City Council.

In this experience, we will provide soft skills training for job seekers to improve their skills in the workplace. This training will be held at the Castellar del Vallès Local Employment Service‘s job club. The skills to be developed are: communication, teamwork, planning and organization, conflict resolution, and adaptability.

Immersive experiences

To develop soft skills in the different competencies we’ve chosen, we’re co-creating different scenarios in which situations will arise and the user will have to decide how to act. Their decisions will determine the course of the experience, and it’s in this interaction that they’ll learn different skills based on the situations they’ll face.

Emotions play a very important role in the cognitive processes of training experiences. Among the cognitive processes impacted by emotions are perception, attention, reasoning, learning, memory, and problem or conflict resolution. Sometimes, users will find themselves in situations where they must make quick decisions about a client’s situation, under very diverse circumstances. They must understand the scenarios they may encounter and what they might do if they find themselves in that specific situation. To create effective training resources, it is necessary to incorporate the experience of emotions such as nervousness, stress, anxiety, doubt, and pressure into the training process. Learning to cope with these emotions will strengthen their security, motivation, self-esteem, and self-confidence.
