We began working with Immersium Studio in 2023 with the aim of promoting more meaningful learning through experiences that faithfully replicate the realities of MSF teams. Together with Immersium, we have created three experiences related to the medical and operational fields, which have been very well received in the various countries where we carry out our humanitarian work. As part of our learning strategy for MSF teams, we hope to continue adding new virtual reality-based content to our catalog. Hand Hygiene VR Training experience<\/strong> is a Virtual Reality<\/strong> training experience for health and non-health personne<\/strong>l who will have a contact with patients at hospital level<\/strong>. The users will be Health personnel (doctors, nurses and auxiliary services) and also people without health training, such as administrative staff (medical leaders, logisticians, administrators, field coordinators, etc.) and associate personnel. The experience will be a part of the Infection Prevention and Control Program<\/strong> from Doctors Without Borders<\/strong><\/a>, that develops for Health Facilities campaigns where hand hygiene plays a very important role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VR training experience<\/strong> will expose personnel to different highly realistic situations<\/strong> in which they need to be excellent in order to increase their efficiency<\/strong>. In front of these situations, the staff will need to make decisions that will affect the course of the learning experience. They will experience the consequences of the decisions they make (maybe mistakes) getting feedback on them. Once finished the training, whenever they will face the real situation, they will already feel like they have already faced that and will be able to implement their learnings both on the knowledge and emotional side improving their performance. The learning story will be co-created by Immersium Studio and Doctors Without Borders involving pedagogues, UX experts, storytelling experts and filmmakers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main goal<\/strong> of the VR training experience is to illustrate the hand hygiene procedure<\/strong> based on decision-making from different situations. The practical application of each of the 5 moments of hand hygiene<\/strong> (described by World Health Organization<\/a>) will be shown in detail to raise awareness and contribute to improving adherence to hand hygiene practices. The experience will allow the user to be conscient about the risks for the patient and for himself<\/strong> during activities that require some type of contact with the patient and his environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
