The<strong> Network of  UOC Former Employees <\/strong>is a UOC participation program aimed at promoting and maintaining the connection between this community and the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:36% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/immersiumstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/extrauoc.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5591 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/immersiumstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/extrauoc.jpg 300w, https:\/\/immersiumstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/extrauoc-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>As part of the celebration of the <strong>UOC\u2019s 30th anniversary<\/strong>, the Network of Former Employees has proposed an activity to commemorate three decades of contribution to the world of online higher education. Under the motto <em><strong>\u201cA Sound Journey Through 30 Years of the UOC\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, they are presenting a podcast series of 10 episodes, each lasting 25 minutes, called <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uoc.edu\/extreballadors\/podcast-extruoc30\/\">Extr@UOC30 Podcast<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Extr@UOC30 Podcast<\/strong> is hosted by journalists <strong>Josep Nieto<\/strong>, the UOC\u2019s first head of press (1994\u20131999), and <strong>\u00c0ngels Do\u00f1ate<\/strong>, head of press at the institution between 2002 and 2006. Starting at minute <strong>18:02<\/strong>, Luis Villarejo speaks about how <strong>Immersium Studio<\/strong> emerged from the <strong>UOC<\/strong>. Luis began working for the language services department, testing new technologies such as<strong> Augmented Reality<\/strong> and <strong>Virtual Reality<\/strong>, and they realized that these services were in demand by companies. With the support of the UOC, we decided to found our company in 2018, and we have worked with <strong>Doctors Without Borders, the University of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra University, the DTI Foundation, the United Nations<\/strong>, and others.
