UNSSC presented our VR experience “A Story of Transformational Change of Sustainable Development” in COP27<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

COP27<\/a> is the 27th Conference<\/strong> of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change<\/strong> that was held in Egypt from 6 to 18 November 2022. It sought renewed solidarity between countries to deliver on the landmark Paris Agreement, for people and the planet. COP27 was built on the outcomes of COP26 to deliver action on an array of issues critical to tackling the climate emergency \u2013 from urgently reducing greenhouse gas emissions, building resilience, and adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change, to delivering on the commitments to finance climate action in developing countries. Heads of State, ministers, and negotiators, along with climate activists, mayors, civil society representatives and CEOs were meeting in the Egyptian coastal city of Sharm el-Sheikh for the largest annual gathering on climate action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Resilience Frontiers pavilion at COP 27 was in AREA C, Pavilion 54. Between the different planned events, participants were able to had a Virtual Reality Tour <\/a>with the immersive experience \u201cA Story of Transformational Change of Sustainable Development<\/strong>\u201d.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA Story of Transformational Change for Sustainable Development<\/strong>\u201d is an interactive 360-degree immersive learning<\/strong> experience on a city undergoing transformative changes towards a more sustainable future. This immersive experience was developed by Immersium Studio<\/strong> in co-creation with UNSSC<\/strong>, and was especially designed to train political and technical United Nations member countries leaders. The experience consists of a visit to a city that has undergone an ecological transition in recent years. It is a city traditionally dependent on extractive coal mining activity, with all the social, political and economic implications that this entails. Public institutions have made great efforts to reformulate the city\u2019s economic model and transform it into a city with a green, circular economy that respects sustainability three dimensions (economic, environmental and social).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
